I'm running for Chula Vista City Council to put my proven experience to work tackling the serious challenges and amazing opportunities facing our community.
Most importantly, we must focus on creating much needed local job opportunities for our residents. Too many Chula Vistans struggle with long commutes and low paying jobs. We must do better.
As I have so many times, I'll stand up for our community - even when it risks angering powerful interests. I'll fight every day to create local jobs and attract new industries. I'll work to realize the Bayfront and make the University Park and Innovation Center a reality to create thousands of local jobs and breathe new life into Chula Vista's economy.
Now that our city will elect Councilmembers by district, I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities this presents. Beyond revitalizing our economy, there is much work to be done to strengthen emergency response, improve vital city service and ensure every neighborhood in Chula Vista gets its fair share.
I am proud of my proven record getting things done for working people in Chula Vista.
- As a Police Detective, I investigated domestic violence and child abuse to protect our most vulnerable citizens.
- As Mayor, I led the charge to bring high paying clean energy jobs to Chula Vista.
- As a Community Advocate, I’ve worked to expand affordable housing, protect our Bayfront plan and for investment in our neighborhoods.
With your support, it would be my honor to put my proven experience to work fighting for our community on the Chula Vista City Council.
